The story takes place in the near future, in the aftermath of the singularity event, in which Ai becomes a global autonomous system that replaces human labor while charges for the service of doing it, resulting in a global economy collapse. The discovery that 55 Cancri e, an exoplanet in the constelation of Cancer, was entirely made of diamonds becomes the most popular solution for bringing perpetual wealth to humans that are at this point completely dependent on this entity. The play starts just after the diamonds flood the Earths landscapes, work is eradicated, and humans are pushed to an involuntary perpetual holidays at the beach.
